HUDSON — An 18-year-old Massachusetts driver was cited after a three-vehicle crash at Central Street (Route 111) and Sullivan Street Friday just before 5 p.m., police said.
According to a police news release, Zachary Bernardini of Dracut, Mass., was behind the wheel of a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder on Lawrence Road at the intersection of Central Street when he failed to stop for the stop sign.
The Nissan began to cross Central Street and collided with a Ford Fusion traveling east on Central Street; it was driven by James Nardone, 56, of Groton, Mass., police said.
The Nissan then struck a 2004 Toyota Sienna stopped at the stop sign at Sullivan Road at the intersection of Central Street; the Nissan ended up on its side, police said.
The occupants of the Toyota — Sonya Colby, 41, of Hudson, and three juveniles — were not injured.
Airbags were deployed in the Ford and the Nissan; all three occupants of those two vehicles were treated at the scene for minor injuries, the news release states.
Police said all drivers and occupants were wearing seatbelts. All three vehicles were towed from the scene with moderate to heavy damage.
Bernardini was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way at a stop sign.
The crash is still under investigation, police said.
