What is the best career advice you ever received?
The best advice I ever received was to make sure I achieved just one objective each year, and that is to make my boss look good. If everyone has the mentality that all their actions are in support of making their boss look good, everything gets done on time, accurately and without surprises. This ensures mutual success for both the boss and employee.
What motivates you to give back to your community?
The fact that I have had a successful career, and a happy, healthy family reminds me how fortunate I have been. I recognize that not everyone is as fortunate as my family and I are, so I want to give back where I can to make others’ lives easier and more enjoyable.
What was your last major achievement?
Successfully negotiating a three-year contract with the U.S. Navy worth $600 million, that will provide great business base to New Hampshire, as well as provide a capability our armed services need to protect our country and freedoms.
Volunteer activities: Treasurer and board of directors for the Adult Learning Center in Nashua; alumni volunteer at UNH Business School.
