Liz Hitchcock, 38, of Manchester is a philanthropist.
Why did you choose your profession?
I chose computer science as my profession because I knew I’d always have a job. I love my profession, because in college I learned how to finish a project and think big. Today I use those skills for all of the many hats that I wear, including board member, entrepreneur, investor and mom (picture shows her little ones).
What motivates you to give back to your community?
All boats float a little higher if the tides rise. Each nonprofit you work with, each community project you’re involved with helps every other organization in the city, which is an incredible multiplicative effect felt by everyone.
What was your last major achievement?
Creating the Hitchcock Foundation, and helping found Millyard Coffee.
Volunteer activities: NHIA Board of Trustees; Currier Vice President Board of Trustees; Events Committee Chair; Social Media for MHTConnects; Steering Committee for LGM (a project of the GMCC); St. Mary’s Bank board member; IT Steering Committee EFNH (Entrepreneur’s Foundation).
