What motivates you to give back to your community?
Growing up in such a close community has allowed for me to appreciate my role models and what they did for me as a kid. I know that I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for my family, coaches and teachers. I want to do what I can to have a positive impact on our community as a whole, and to be able to know that I have made a positive difference in other people’s lives.
What would you like to be doing when you’re 40?
When I am 40, I see myself married with a family of my own. I look forward to playing a big role in my children’s education and also attending their extra-curricular activities. I would like to travel often, ski in the winters and golf in the warmer months. I also see myself continuing to give back to the community, always.
Volunteer activities: When I was 15 years old, I was diagnosed with leukemia. It was a long three-year battle but with the help of friends, family and the community, I was able to beat the disease. I am now very involved with sick children and their families who are dealing with a life-threatening illness. My brother Gene and I organize THE Ugly Christmas Sweater Party at the Derryfield Country Club every year (shown in photo). Board member: Dan Duval Charitable Trust; Central Little Green Grid Iron Club; Jack Fallon Scholarship.
