HOOKSETT — An Allenstown man was arrested and charged with driving a stolen car after Hooksett police spotted the vehicle in the Walmart parking lot early Friday morning, officials said.
Joseph Hanright, 28, charged with receiving stolen property, was booked and refused bail Friday.
He was brought to the Merrimack County House of Corrections and scheduled to appear before a Merrimack County Superior Court judge later Friday. Further details about the case are not known.
Hooksett police officer Brian Roche first spotted the car parked in a dark area of the Walmart lot at 3 Commerce Drive at 2:44 a.m. Friday. Hanright was in the driver’s seat with an unidentified female passenger, officials said.
Police dispatch informed Roche that Allenstown police had reported the car stolen several hours earlier.
