NORTH HAVERHILL — A Bristol man has been charged with impaired boating and having a controlled drug aboard his vessel on Newfound Lake.

Cole P. Eastman, 29, of 165 Dick Brown Road, is alleged to have been under the influence of liquor or a controlled drug while piloting a 2008 Stingray boat on the lake about 8:46 p.m. Aug. 10 and to have had LSD on board.

A Grafton County grand jury handed up the misdemeanor charges when it met on Sept. 15. They also returned a violation-level charge for failure to display proper lighting.

Eastman faces having his right to operate a boat suspended for one year and the loss of his driver’s licence for up to two years.
