KEENE — A Claremont man who sent pornographic images of his ex-girlfriend to another man will not serve jail time in that case after pleading guilty in Cheshire County Superior Court on Thursday.

Norman Chapman, 28, of 24 High St., Claremont, received a suspended one- to four-year prison sentence when he pleaded guilty to nonconsensual dissemination of private sexual images. Chapman is already serving time in jail related to another matter, according to court records.

Chapman is to have no contact with the victim in the case, a 26-year-old woman, and he is to undergo domestic violence and mental health evaluations within 45 days of his release from jail and follow any treatment recommended by the evaluations.

The victim went to police in June to report an explicit photo taken of her genitalia and video she recorded with Chapman had been shared through social media. The woman was performing a sex act with Chapman in the video, according to the application for an arrest warrant filed in court.

Chapman reportedly sent the photo and video to the man the woman was then romantically seeing, according to the report. That man showed police the Facebook message thread where Chapman made explicit comments about the woman, according to the affidavit.

Officers then interviewed Chapman, who was then in the Cheshire House of Corrections in Keene on an unrelated matter. Chapman admitted to officers that he shared the photo and video without the woman’s consent.

“Norman said he was being ‘hot headed’ and ‘vindictive’ because (the woman) had cheated on him,” the affidavit states.

Chapman was facing two class B felony charges before the plea deal. Each charge could have resulted in up to seven years in prison. He is ordered to remain on good behavior for five years, and will serve two years of probation once released from custody.
