High School Roundup: Exeter High School's Jackie Gaughan sets meet record in Vermont

At Thetford (Vt.) Academy, senior Jackie Gaughan of Exeter High School won the Woods Trail Run on Saturday, establishing a girls' course record of 18:18 in the 5-kilometer run.

Freshman Cali Coffin of Nashua South ran third in the event (19:31), and senior Jane Leighton of Souhegan High finished fourth at 19:44.

David Reynolds, a junior at Merrimack Valley High School, finished seventh (17:01) in the boys' 5,000 meter run, which was won by Drew Thompson of Fairfield (Conn.) Prep School in a time of 15:56. Senior Jacob Huberdeau of Timberlane (17:43) placed 26th.

Field hockey

Manchester Central 4, Nashua South 0: At Manchester, Gabby Leonard scored twice, and Katelyn Parker and Grace Mayhew each added a goal for the Little Green (6-3-2). Emma Dudley conributed two assists, and Heather Richardson stopped two shots in goal.

Boys' soccer

Londonderry 1, Man. Central 0: At Londonderry on Friday, Owen Creed's goal in the 73rd minute won it for the Lancers (8-2-2). Alex Hufford made 12 saves for Londonderry. Nidal Almaree stopped four for Central (9-3-1).

Pinkerton 9, Spaulding 1: At Hampstead on Friday, Alex Beaulieu had a hat trick and Ashim Gurung scored twice for Pinkerton (8-4). Joe Palmer had a goal and three assists. Mike Puchacz, Cole Perry and Henry Andrews scored. Max Fairbank made two saves.

Lebanon 1, Kearsarge 0: Patrick Mason's strike in the 77th minute made the difference for Lebanon, which is 8-3-1. Chris Nulty made three saves for Lebanon. Levi Wilson made 14 saves for Kearsarge, which had its three-game win streak halted and is 5-6-1.
