HUDSON — A 55-year-old Hudson woman faces aggravated drunken driving and a host of other charges after leading local police on a chase that ended with her car careening off Wason Road into an embankment early Saturday morning.

Morene Gagnon was brought to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center by Hudson Fire EMTs for a possible minor injury after the accident that occurred just before 1:30 a.m.

Hudson Police Officer Taylor Morin was patrolling on Wason Road heading north at 1:08 a.m. when she noticed Gagnon erratically driving her 2017 Chevy Cruze.

Morin tried to make a traffic stop but police officials said the driver would not pull over and a pursuit ensued.

Gagnon crossed over the oncoming lane and struck a utility pole, police officials said.

The driver then lost control, spinning into the northbound lane and off the roadway before crashing into an embankment.

Hudson Fire officials had to deploy equipment to remove Gagnon from her car, officials said.

She was the lone person in the vehicle and was arrested after being transported to the hospital, officials said.

In addition to the DWI offense, Gagnon faces charges of disobeying a police officer, conduct after an accident and having an open container of alcohol in the car.

She was released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail and will face arraignment on Sept. 20 in the 9th Circuit Court Nashua District Division.

A portion of Wason Road was closed for about an hour after the accident for further investigation and to have Eversource officials repair the damaged pole, officials said.
