NORTH CONWAY — A rescue team led by Fish and Game helped a Massachusetts woman after she became injured on the Bryce Path in North Conway, according to state officials.

Ekaterini Antoniou, 46, of Assonet, Mass., was hiking with five family members when she tripped and injured her ankle late Friday afternoon, officials said.

Antoniou tried to make her way down the trail but could not bear weight on the leg, officials said.

Echo Lake State Park staff made contact with Fish and Game officials about 5 p.m. Friday.

Members of the North Conway Fire Department and Fish and Game made up the rescue team that placed Antoniou in a litter and carried her out to a waiting ambulance about 6 p.m.

No other information was available, officials said.
