U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte's re-election campaign today announced a list of more than 750 endorsements.
The first-term Republican and former state attorney general is facing a challenge from Gov. Maggie Hassan, D-Newfields. Both women may have some primary opposition before what is expected to be one of the hottest U.S. Senate races in the nation in 2016.
"I'm extremely grateful for the grassroots support our campaign is receiving all across our state," Ayotte said in the announcement. "Our supporters from all backgrounds and walks of life bring invaluable experience and perspective to our effort, and I know they will be a great help in spreading our message that by working together we can bring common-sense solutions to the Senate."
The list of endorsements includes business people, civic leaders, party activists, law enforcement members, and local and state elected leaders.
Republican National Committee representatives Steve Duprey of Concord and Juliana Bergeron of Keene are on the list.
Others include former Congressman Bill Zeliff, Beverly Bruce of Tuftonboro, former state GOP Chairwoman Jayne Millerick, former GOP Chairman Wayne MacDonald, businessman Dick Anagnost of Manchester, Franklin Mayor Ken Merrifield, and House Speaker Shawn Jasper and state Senate President Chuck Morse are some of the big names on the list.
