MANCHESTER — A 19-year-old Manchester man was charged with endangering a child’s welfare after Manchester police said he left his young daughter in a locked car Saturday morning.

Ibrahim Mohamed will be arraigned on the misdemeanor charge Monday, police officials said.

Officials said a customer of McDonald’s Restaurant on Second Street had called in at 10:41 a.m. about a child being left unattended in the car.

Mohamed told police that he had been inside the restaurant for nearly 30 minutes while he had a conversation with someone with his back to the vehicle.

Mohamed’s 1-year-old daughter was strapped in a car seat with the windows rolled up and the car not running while it was 39 degrees outside, police officials said.

The child was released into the custody of her mother who was not at the restaurant at the time of the incident, according to police.
