February 23. 2018 5:58PM

MANCHESTER — Acting on an unfounded tip, Manchester police did a sweep inside Central High School early Friday morning looking for a possible firearm hidden inside a locker, officials said.

Neither weapons nor any contraband was found in the sweep, and police said there was no credible danger or threat to students or staff.

Police have increased their presence at schools throughout the city, officials said.

The report about a possible gun had come to the Manchester Police Department’s juvenile division on Thursday.
