The First Baptist Church of Nashua was scheduled to hold its 35th annual tribute to the life and legacy of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in a program entitled “Unity" on Saturday, Jan. 14.

JAFFREY - "What is Courage?" is the theme of the 2017 Celebrating Martin Luther King Jr. event starting at 4:45 p.m. at the Jaffrey Civic Center, 40 Main St. This year's event is dedicated to Bill Perry, Jr., recently deceased, a Peterborough resident and founding member of the MLK Committee who was active in the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s and was acquainted with Dr. King. New Hampshire Poet Laureate Alice Fogel will deliver the keynote address.
The event will open with a bell-ringing ceremony and the ringing of the United Church's Revere bell for the "Let Freedom Ring: Choose Non-Violence," action requested by The King Center.
