Nashua police make arrest in Coburn Woods shooting


NASHUA — Police have arrested a city man in connection with an early morning Coburn Avenue shooting Friday.

Peter Leonardi, 36, of 111 Coburn Ave. No. 37, was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and falsifying physical evidence, both Class B felonies.

According to a release, officers were called to Coburn Woods, 111 Coburn Ave., at 2:54 a.m. Friday for a report of shots fired. Police found Christopher Morin outside, suffering a gunshot wound to the leg.

Morin was taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center and then was transferred to a Boston hospital for surgery. He is in stable condition, police said.

Leonardi was known to Morin, police said, and during their investigation police discovered Leonardi is a convicted felon prohibited from possessing firearms.

Leonardi was released on $20,000 cash/surety bail and is scheduled to appear in Nashus circuit court June 1.
