ROCHESTER — A head-on crash Friday morning resulted in non-life-threatening injuries to passengers in one of the cars, according to Rochester police.

Joseph Vandenbusscheage, 35, of Nottingham was driving a Ford Fusion north on Gonic Road Friday morning when Guy Monaco, 89, of Arlington, Mass., pulled his Hyundai Elantra out of Loring Drive, and the collision occurred, just before 10 a.m.

Paramedics brought an unidentified number of passengers from Vandenbusscheage’s car to Frisbie Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Both cars were extensively damaged and towed from the scene.

Rochester Police Sgt. Randy Smith said part of Gonic Road was closed a short time and traffic was re-routed through side streets.
