Police, fire crews investigate, can't find cause of loud noise reported in Hooksett

HOOKSETT — Police and fire crews have no theory what may have caused a big “bang” reported in Hooksett Sunday night.

Emergency dispatchers in Hooksett confirmed they received about a dozen calls around 5:30 p.m. Sunday, reporting what sounded like a large explosion in southern Hooksett in the area of Summerfare Street near the Londonderry Turnpike. Police and fire crews patrolled the area, but were unable to determine a cause for the noise.

Hooksett police and fire personnel said as of 7 p.m. Sunday, no cause for the noise had been located, and personnel were no longer investigating.
