WINDHAM — Police on Friday issued a warrant for a homeless man they say robbed a bank on Monday.

Daryl G. Gurley Jr., 24, is wanted in the robbery of Santander Bank, 3 Wall St., as well as for similar crimes in nearby towns, police said.

Windham Police Capt. Mike Caron said the robber yelled “this is a robbery” and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Gurley also is wanted in a Dec. 23 bank robbery in Derry, Caron said, where witnesses identified him in a photo lineup.

In both the Windham robbery and the one at the Santander branch at 20 E. Broadway in Derry, Gurley is accused of claiming to have a handgun but never brandishing a weapon, Caron said.

Police said Gurley is about 5-foot-10, with a medium build and a goatee that might appear ungroomed.

He has a tattoo on his upper right arm, police said, could be armed and has connections to Derry, Nashua and Salem.

Police ask anyone with information on Gurley’s whereabouts to call Derry police at 432-6111 or Windham police at 434-5577 or email
