Woman seriously injured in Weare after driving into tree, getting pinned inside vehicle

WEARE — Police say a young woman was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on River Road.

Emergency responders found that the car had struck a tree, pinning the driver inside. They had to use an extrication tool to free her from the car, and she was then airlifted to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with what police said were serious injuries.

The driver’s identity was not immediately released.

The crash occurred around 3:20 p.m. in the vicinity of 1429 River Road.
