Epping’s Jimmy Stanley poured in 16 points, including his 1,000th career point, to help lead the way in a 71-68 win over host Derryfield School of Manchester in boys’ basketball action Friday night.

Epping improved to 7-1 and handed Derryfield (6-1) its first loss.

Chris Wilson scored 18 points to lead Epping. Derryfield’s Max Anderson scored 19 points and Bennett Doherty added 18.

Trinity 48, Spaulding 46: At Rochester, Trinity’s Wenyen Gabriel scored just two points in the game but they were big. Gabriel connected with 25 seconds remaining to provide the winning margin. Ryan Otis added 18 points and Carmen Giampetruzzi had 12 for Trinity, which improved to 7-1. Derian Barry had 22 points to lead Spaulding (5-4).

Winnacunnet 54, Bedford 50: At Bedford, the Bulldogs lost another close game, having now dropped five out of six games by four points or fewer. Winnacunnet was led by Rich Ruffin with 17 points. Paul Michaud (11 points) and Alec Boucher (10 points) chipped in for Winnacunnet (6-2). Bedford (1-6) got 14 points each from Cam Meservey and Sam Stanton.

Merrimack 59, Concord 30: At Merrimack, Shayne Bourque had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead the offense for the Tomahawks. Eric Gendron added 14 points and Ian Roberts had eight. Merrimack remained unbeaten at 7-0 and Concord fell to 3-4.

Pinkerton 49, Exeter 47: At Exeter, the Blue Hawks had the ball late in the game but could not get a shot off before the buzzer. The Astros were led by Luke Rosinski with 26 points. Jeremy Dietzel hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second half for Pinkerton (6-2). Exeter (4-5) was paced by Bryant Holmes and Jordan Dickinson with 10 points each.

Salem 55, Keene 42: At Keene, senior guard Mike Felix scored 21 points, 15 in a decisive second half, as Salem earned a Division I win. The Blue Devils (2-3) led by only three at the half, but pressure defense by Felix and Ike Latham enabled them to pull away in the fourth quarter. Salem’s Jared Gott scored 13 points, 10 in the second half. Keene fell to 0-7.

Bishop Guertin 74, Manchester Memorial 72: At Manchester, the Crusaders (3-4) had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer but the shot fell short. Guertin (7-1) led by 10 at the half and held off the Memorial comeback. Bishop Guertin was led offensively by Joe Marandola with 30 points. Memorial’s Kabongo Ngalakulondi scored 27 points and Treyvon Maughn added 23 points.

Dover 79, North 73: At Dover, Michael Wasserman scored a game-high 30 points as Dover picked up its first victory and raised its Division I record to 1-7. Dover’s Anthony Lupi finished with 18 points, all of which came on 3-pointers. The loss dropped North to 2-6.

Bishop Brady 66, Goffstown 59: At Concord, Brady improved to 5-2 while Goffstown fell to 3-6. Pat Kelsey had 24 points and eight rebounds for the Grizzlies.

Nashua South 71, Timberlane 52: At Nashua, Cam Joyal’s 13 points led 11 Panther scorers in a Division I contest. South (4-2) wrapped up matters by outscoring the Owls 25-13 in the third quarter. Thomas Johnston scored 12 points to lead Timberlane (0-7).

John Stark 50, ConVal 46: Kyle Murray scored 11 points and Jordan Moore and Jaymes Finley added nine each for ConVal (1-7).

Plymouth 58, Windham 55: Plymouth’s halfcourt traps in the fourth quarter helped the Bobcats overcome an 11-point deficit in the final frame. Colin Sullivan scored 19 points for Plymouth (8-1) while Jared Kuehl added 17. Plymouth outscored the Jaguars 24-10 in the final eight minutes. Andrew Lowman had 15 points for Windham (5-3) while Tucker Lippold and David Carbonello added 10 each. The Jaguars had two chances to tie in the final 11 seconds but both 3-point efforts missed.

Campbell 45, Prospect Mountain 37: At Litchfield, Campbell came out strong in the first quarter and never looked back. Leading scorers for the Cougars (4-2) were Zach Bergeon (21 points), Harrison Vedrani (seven points) and Kyle Shaw (six points).

Moultonborough 43, Profile 33: At Bethlehem, Aaron Davis scored 13 Riley Swedberg added 10, as did Johnny McClay. Moultonborough is now 5-3. Profile (6-1) got 14 from Bailey Johnson.



Girls’ basketball

Trinity 67, Spaulding 34: At Manchester, the Pioneers led early and then cruised in improving to 5-4. Spaulding is also 5-4. Trinity’s Amanda Torres scored 12 in the first quarter en route 21 points. Lizzy Meehan added 15 points and Ashley Hill scored 10. Spaulding got 10 points from Lyndsee Thompson to lead the way.

Raymond 53, Farmington 33: At Raymond, Brittani Norris led the way with 18 points and Amanda McGee added 11 for Raymond. Farmington was paced by Emily Squires with 13 points. Raymond improved to 4-5 and Farmington fell to 2-8.

Londonderry 82, Central 34: At Manchester, 12 of the 13 players on the Londonderry roster scored to help the Lancers improve to 7-0 in Division I. Casey Evans led Londonderry with 16. Londonderry’s Jordan Marett and Aliza Simpson each finished with 13. Central dropped to 4-4.

Manchester Memorial 39, Bishop Guertin 36: At Nashua, Memorial called timeout with the game tied 36-36 with 30 seconds remaining. Angie Marazzi hit a 3-pointer with five seconds to go to provide the win for Memorial. Marazzi had 29 points with five 3-pointers. Memorial is 6-1 and winners of six in a row. Bishop Guertin fell to 6-3. Jess Sweetser grabbed 15 rebounds for Memorial and A.J. Akot added 10 rebounds in a strong defensive effort. BG was led by Jamie Sherbourne with 11 points.

Bow 34, Conant 25: At Jaffrey, Bow picked up its fourth straight road win. Sam Lulka got hot early for Bow and had a solid all-around game with 10 points, six rebounds, four steals, and two assists. Sarah Gonzalves paced Conant with 14 points.

Pinkerton 63, Exeter 26: At Derry, the Astros remained unbeaten at 7-0. Kayla Stacy had 15 points in the victory followed by Valerie Martin with 12.

Bedford 69, Winnacunnet 37: At Hampton, Bedford moved to 7-0 with the win. Bedford had balanced scoring with Rachel Collins, Nikki Tucci, Gabby Hunter and McKenzie Brown each scoring 10 points and Haley Driscoll and Ali Glennon scoring nine points. Winnacunnet is now 2-3.
