Hanover at Bishop Brady-Trinity

It took some extra effort, but the Londonderry High School boys’ basketball team earned the No. 4 seed for the Division I tournament by beating Nashua South, 87-80, in double overtime Friday night at Nashua’s Elm Street Junior High School.

Londonderry opened the second overtime with an 11-1 run and completed the regular season with a 14-4 record. Caleb Green scored 31 for the Lancers, who received 21 from Cody Ball. Yordy Tavarez led South (9-9) with 25.

South’s Mike Osgood made a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of regulation to force overtime.

Friday night’s games concluded the regular season in Division I. The postseason tournament opens Tuesday at the home court of the higher seeds. Here are the unofficial matchups for the preliminary round:

Top-ranked Manchester Central (18-0) will host No. 16 Concord (6-12); No. 2 Trinity (17-1) will host cross-town rival No. 15 Manchester West (6-12); third-seeded Merrimack (16-2) will play No. 14 Alvirne of Hudson (6-12); No. 4 Londonderry (14-4) will host No. 13 Salem (7-11); fifth-seeded Bishop Guertin of Nashua (13-5) will play host to No. 12 Manchester Memorial (8-10); No. 6 Winnacunnet of Hampton (12-6) will host No. 11 Spaulding of Rochester (9-9); No. 7 Bedford (11-7) will host 10th-seeded Pinkerton Academy of Derry (9-9), and No. 8 Exeter (10-8) will host No. 9 Nashua South (9-9).

Trinity 85, Dover 47: At Manchester, the Pioneers led 23-6 after one period thanks to a 15-0 run to open the game.

Trinity started senior Joe Lamontagne for the first time in his career and he scored nine points. Wenyin Gabriel (15 points), Brad Rhodes (14), Ryan Otis (10) and Carmen Giampetruzzi (13 points and 12 rebounds) paced the Trinity (17-1) attack. Dover (3-15) was led by Anthony Lupi with 14 points.

Winnacunnet 70, Memorial 60: At Hampton, Ron Ruffin scored 22 points to lead the way for the hosts of Winnacunnet (12-6). Memorial (8-10) was led by 18 points from Kabongo Ngalakulondi.

Bedford 67, Keene 41: The host Bulldogs routed Keene for their 10th win in a row to end the regular season. Bedford’s Cam Meservey led the way with 17 points, and teammate Tom O’Rourke added 10. Bedford finished 11-7. Nate Rickson led Keene (0-18) with 11 points.

Windham 63, Hanover 54: At Windham, Andrew Lowman led the hosts with 14 points and the Jaguars (10-8) got 11 each for David Carbonello and Tucker Lippold while Tyler Masone added 10 points. Hanover (11-7) got 20 points from Rocco Linehan and 15 from John Flory.

Girls’ basketball

Winnacunnet 61, Manchester Memorial 51: At Manchester, the Crusaders trailed by 22 points but cut the lead to six before falling off at the end.

Winnacunnet (12-6) was led by Melissa Macleod with 21 points. Memorial (11-7) was paced by Makenah Griffon with a game-high 27 points. Senior A.J. Akot added nine points.

Goffstown 47, ConVal 38: At Goffstown, the Grizzlies (10-8) were able to keep ConVal of Peterborough (4-14) at bay throughout the game.

Rene Roggenbuck led Goffstown with 14 points while Olivia Odell and Parker McBride chipped in eight each. ConVal was paced by 17 points from Jess Nerz.

Trinity 51, Dover 49: At Dover, Amanda Torres drove the basket and fed freshman Shannon Roberge for a lay-up to win the game. The Pioneers (11-7) were led by Torres with 13 points. Roberge and Erienn Kolben each added 11. Dover (8-10) was led by Molly Wotton with 17.

Salem 45, Pinkerton 40: At Derry, the Blue Devils led early and held on for the win. Brandi Bonneau scored 16 for Pinkerton (13-5).

Londonderry 69, Nashua South 14: At Londonderry, the Lancers received 16 points from Casey Evans and 12 from Jackie Luckhardt, and finished the regular season with a 15-3 record. The Lancers will be the No. 2 seed for the Division I tournament and will be at home against Keene in the preliminary round.
