Chamber looking for 'Pinnacle' nominations

CONCORD — The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for the ninth annual Pinnacle Awards, which recognize businesses and individuals for professional excellence and commitment to the community.

The awards will be presented at a luncheon 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 21 at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave., Concord.

Categories include:

• Small Business of the Year (2013 winner: Irish Electric Corp.)

• Business of the Year (2013 winner: Grappone Automotive Group)

• Business Leader of the Year (2013 winner: Maria White, American Red Cross/NH Region)

• Nonprofit Business of the Year (2013 winner: Red River Theatres)

The deadline for submitting nominations is April 7. Also at this event, the W. Grant McIntosh Award for volunteerism will be presented, and the Leadership Greater Concord Class of 2014 will celebrate its graduation.

Chamber to hosts 'State of the State' luncheon

CONCORD — Gov. Maggie Hassan will deliver her second annual update on the economic challenges and opportunities facing the state, especially as they relate to the business community.

The event is presented by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. March 13 at the Grappone Conference Center, 70 Constitution Ave., Concord.

Tourism director elected to trade association group

CONCORD — New Hampshire Travel and Tourism Director Lori Harnois has joined the U.S. Travel Association's Membership Governance Committee as an at-large director.

She is the first New Hampshire director to be named to the board and will serve on the committee through 2016.

At-large directors officially started their new terms at the spring board meeting, held in Washington, D.C., this past weekend.

Officers and at-large members of the Governance Committee were voted on by the U.S. Travel Association membership, comprised of about 2,000 members, according to the association.
