In-state tuition changes killed

CONCORD — The House Thursday killed legislation that would have limited in-state tuition rates at the state university system to those who are legally domiciled in the state.

Currently, the university system has its own requirements of who can and cannot receive in-state tuition.

House Bill 1507 would apply for tuition purposes the state’s legal definition of “domicile” as it applies to voting and taxation.

The vote killing the bill was 178-117.
