Nashua school members' letter prompts an apology
According to city attorney Stephen Bennett, the letter, which was written by David Murotake and signed by Kim Muise, William Mosher, Sandra Ziehm, Elizabeth Van Twuyver, Dotty Oden and former board member Jack Kelley, "violated the spirit of the right to know law."
Although the letter was circulated through email and members never met to discuss it, the six members represent a quorum of the board. Other board members were not given the chance to review the letter.
Bennet warned board members that the letter also may have violated their own bylaws which require any board actions to be taken in public. He also said the state could order the board to refrain from any similar actions in the future.
