Manchester man arrested for drug possession after traffic stop
MANCHESTER - A Manchester man was arrested for drug possession after a police officer saw him speed out of the Econo Lodge parking lot on West Hancock Street early Wednesday morning.
Manchester police spokesman Brian O'Keefe said officers have been increasing patrols in the area of the Econo Lodge due to complaints involving drug sales.
Reagan Gauthier, 33, of 62 East Meadow Way, was arrested after Sgt. Brandon Murphy saw Gauthier drive his 2000 Ford Expedition out of the lot about 1:50 a.m. at a high rate of speed.
Murphy caught up to Gauthier on Granite Street near Canal Street and after calling in the vehicle's plate, discovered it was stolen out of Concord. Murphy searched the truck and found four individual baggies of drugs, some containing heroin (.3 grams total) and crack cocaine (.3 grams total) in the others.
Gauthier was charged with receiving stolen property, a class A felony, and two counts of possession of controlled drug, a class B felony.
His passenger was not charged. The owner of the stolen SUV responded to the scene to take possession of her vehicle.
