UPDATED: Dover police seek man after downtown burglary video released

DOVER - Dover police have issued an arrest warrant for Antwun Whitney, 26, in connection with burglaries early Saturday morning at 1 Washington Center, Dover.

Whitney faces a charge of one count of burglary, a class B felony, for the break-in at “Mill Eats,”  a bakery inside 1 Washington Center. Police say he stole cash from the business.

Surveillance video of the crime was distributed to the media Monday, and detectives said information as a result of that release led them to Whitney, who remains at large.

Whitney is a described as a black male,  6-foot-3, 180 pounds, and  last seen wearing blue jeans, a black Northface jacket with black sneakers with white soles.

DOVER – Police are asking the public for help identifying a man who took cash and jewelry from businesses inside the mill building at 1 Washington Center Saturday night.

Police are investigating the series of commercial burglaries that occurred just after midnight Saturday.

"At this time we are not releasing the number of businesses burglarized. It appears the suspect was looking for cash and jewelry," Sgt. Scott Pettingill said.

"Surveillance video obtained at the scene shows the suspect as a lone black male with a shaved head, believed to be in his mid to late 20's, with a stud earring in his left ear, wearing blue jeans, a black Northface jacket with a dark colored hoodie and black sneakers with white soles," according to police.
