Power restored to downtown Manchester

April 15. 2014 3:18PM

The rain and wind that moved into the state this afternoon affected power in some places, including downtown Manchester.

PSNH sent out a message on its Twitter account around 2:30 p.m. that crews were aware and responding to an outage impacting downtown Manchester.

Just before 4 p.m., another message on the company's Twitter account indicated power had been restored in downtown Manchester. The utility said an equipment issue with the underground system caused the outage, and crews were able to re-route power to restore customers.

Across the state, PSNH reported more than 500 customers in Dover and 366 in Rollinsford were also without power earlier in the afternoon.

Unitil was reporting only 134 customers without power by mid-afternoon, with the bulk of those in Kingston and Stratham.
