WILTON — Two burglaries happened within hours apart in Wilton and Lyndeborough on Monday, and police are looking to see if they are connected.
The homes are on Center Road in Lyndeborough and Dale Street in Wilton, which intersect.
The burglary at the home on Center Road in Lyndeborough occurred between 7 a.m. to 1:35 pm. A strongbox was found on Dale Street near the dam with the resident’s personal belongings and reported to police. Jewelry and electronics were stolen from the home. No one was home at the time of the break-in.
That same day, at 5:34 p.m., Wilton police were called to a residence on Dale Street for a burglary. Entry was forced through a door and personal property was taken. The electronics stolen were valuable, said Wilton police Chief Brent Hautanen. No one was inside at the time of the robbery.
Lyndeborough police believe the burglaries could be connected, according to a press release from Lyndeborough police Chief Rainsford Deware.
“We would like to ask people to be vigilant,” said Hautanen. “Make sure your homes are secure and report anything that looks out of order or suspicious. If see something not normal, report it immediately. You live in a small town and watch out for your neighbors.”
