Fishers suspended, to continue Wednesday

The rain didn’t come quick enough, as far as the Fisher Cats were concerned on Tuesday.

The opener of a three-game Eastern League series in Binghamton. N.Y. was suspended because of rain and wet grounds in the second inning with the Mets leading 6-0.

The game will resume Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. followed by the regularly-scheduled game which will now be shortened to seven innings.

Kevin Plawecki had a two-run double in the first inning and added a three-run home run in the second frame off New Hampshire starter Matt Boyd. Neither team has named a pitcher for the continuation of Tuesday’s game on Wednesday. Casey Lawrence (2-4, 3.90) takes the ball against Binghamton righty Rainy Lara (4-1, 4.40) for the seven-inning nightcap.
