Task force arrests ‘Fugitive of the Week’ Legault in Manchester

May 28. 2014 10:20AM

CONCORD, N.H. – Members of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force arrested Peter Legault Wednesday morning at a residence in Manchester. Legault had been named this week’s Fugitive of the Week.

Legault, 39, last known to live in Moultonborough, was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant issued by the Carroll County Superior Court for failure to appear on an original charge of burglary.

As a member of the task force, the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office had requested the assistance of the task force to locate and arrest Legault. One part of the U.S. Marshal’s fugitive investigation included airing Legault as this week’s “Fugitive of the Week.”

After a task force investigation and additional confirming information from a tipster, task force members from the Carroll and Rockingham County sheriff’s offices, Manchester and Greenfield police departments and deputy U.S. Marshals went to an Edna Avenue residence in Manchester where Legault was living and arrested Legault without incident.

Legault was turned over to the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to be returned to the Carroll County Jail for processing and holding pending his court appearance.

Since the inception of the New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force in 2002, these partnerships have resulted in over 5,523 arrests.
