Derry picks 2 manager finalists

DERRY — After three months of searching, councilors have chosen two town administrator finalists from a field of 76.

Council Chairman Mark Osborne said the two are Richard Brown, town manager in Freetown, Mass., and Stephen Eldridge, former town manager of Lisbon, Maine.

“This council has been putting in many hours on weekends, during the week, in the mornings, into finding an ideal candidate for Derry,” Osborne said.

The finalists will come to the Municipal Center on Thursday, where they will meet with town department heads and employees, Osborne said. At 6 p.m., they will attend a public forum in the Municipal Center.

Town councilors plan to appoint someone for the position as early as July 1.
