E. coli closes public beach at Manchester’s Crystal Lake

June 25. 2014 8:19AM

MANCHESTER — The public beach at Crystal Lake was closed Tuesday due to elevated levels of E. coli bacteria, according to city health officials.

The elevated bacterial levels were identified in a routine water sample taken on Monday.

Samples taken at other locations on the lake were not elevated, health officials said.

The lake will be resampled today and the beach will reopen once the E. coli levels are found to be acceptable.
