SPOFFORD — Two women were injured in a three-car collision on Route 9 Tuesday morning.
Chesterfield police, fire and rescue units went to Route 9 at the Big Deal Discount store at 8:07 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a three-car accident.
According to the preliminary investigation, a 2008 Subaru driven by Korrine McManus, 34, of West Chesterfield collided with the 2002 Volkswagen driven by Gwen Mousin, 59, of Spofford as it was stopped waiting to turn left into the Big Deal Discount Store parking lot. The impact caused the Volkswagen to spin and then strike a 2011 Kia driven by Sara Harris, 26, of Spofford.
The collision caused extensive damage to the rear and front of the Volkswagen. Gwen Mousin suffered facial injuries and was trapped in the Volkswagen until firefighters were able to free her. The Subaru sustained extensive front-end damage. McManus suffered back and abdominal injuries. The Kia sustained moderate damage to the driver’s side. Both Harris and her daughter were uninjured.
McManus and Mousin were taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene by the Keene Fire Department with non-life threatening injuries.The crash remains under investigation.
