BELLAFONTAINE, Ohio — A Manchester, N.H., man was in serious condition in an Ohio hospital after crashing his helicopter into trees, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Leo Boucher, 50, was piloting the tree-trimming helicopter about 100 feet off the ground on Tuesday when, while cutting a tree line, he lost control and crashed, according to a release from the highway patrol.
Sgt. Timothy Sankoe of the highway patrol said Wednesday evening that Boucher remained in critical, but stable, condition at Grant Medical Center in Columbus. He was the only occupant in the helicopter.
The crash happened in West Liberty, which is about 60 miles northwest of Columbus.
Police do not suspect either alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.
