A seven-run first inning for Cumberland American (R.I.) doomed Goffstown in a 10-0 loss at the New England Little League Regional tournament in Bristol, Conn., Monday night.

Goffstown fell to 1-2 in round robin play, which concludes Wednesday at 4 p.m. against Tom Wallace American from Barnstable, Mass.

Cumberland American led 5-0 in the bottom of the first before Goffstown was able to record the first out of the inning.

Jayden Struble (RBI single), Addison Kopack (RBI double) and Trey Bourque (RBI single) had the big hits in the inning, which ended with Cumberland American ahead 7-0.

The Rhode Island crew added a single run in the second on a Kopack home run to make it 8-0 and ended the game via the mercy rule with two runs in the fourth frame.

Kopack doubled and scored on a Bourque single and pinch-runner Mason Matos scored to end the game on a Brendan Wright single.

Goffstown threatened in the top of the fourth, loading the bases on a walk to Clay Campbell and singles from Myles Green and Liam Kilbreth.

But Cumberland Americna pitcher Kopack struck out three consecutive batters to end the inning. Goffstown stranded seven in the game.

Brett Patnode took the loss for Goffstown while Nick Croteau got the win in relief for Cumberland.

Green, Connor Hujsak and Kilbreth had the only hits for Goffstown.
