Jeanne Dietsch for District 9

August 23. 2016 10:35PM

To the Editor: I write to express my enthusiastic support for Jeanne Dietsch, a successful small business owner from Peterborough, in her candidacy for the state Senate District 9 seat, representing Bedford, New Boston, Mont Vernon and many Monadnock Region towns.

Jeanne will be a powerful voice for our shared priorities in Concord. She will bring her experience and skills to the difficult task of shrinking the so-called “opportunity gap.” She will push hard for investments that build the foundation for a brighter future for everyone in New Hampshire.

Because she can speak as a successful global technology entrepreneur, Jeanne will be able to challenge the lobbyists and right wing legislators in Concord who use lip service to small business to block key investments in our state’s future. Jeanne will make a small business case for protecting worker rights and raising the minimum wage, enabling sustainable energy investments, making Medicaid expansion permanent, reversing the downshifting of state costs to property taxpayers, investing in early childhood care, and giving our schools and teachers the resources they need to educate and empower the next generation of New Hampshire citizens.

The towns in Senate District 9 have been poorly served in the state Senate by Andy Sanborn, who stands apart from moderate Republicans with his consistent subservience to Tea Party pledges and agendas. With her fresh voice, unique skill set and experience, Jeanne Dietsch can turn this around. I hope you’ll join me in supporting her in the Sept. 13 Democratic primary.

REP. DICK AMES
