Manchester takes 2-0 leadStaff Report

The Manchester Monarchs went ahead early and hung on for a 4-3 win over the South Carolina Stingrays on Saturday night in Game 2 of the ECHL Eastern Conferencnce finals at North Charleston Coliseum.
The Monarchs lead the best-of-seven series two games to none, with Game 3 on Monday night in Charleston.
Zac Lynch, at 7:35, and Quentin Shore, at 11:00, gave the Monarchs a 2-0 lead after one period. Craig Wyszomirski scored at 8:54 of the second to make it 3-0.
Marcus Perrier got one back for the Stingrays at 14:34, but Manchester went ahead 4-1 on Kevin Morris' goal at 1:06 of the third.
Rob Flick scored at 4:13 of the third and Joe Devin connected at 8:15 to get South Carolina within one, at 4-3, but the Monarchs held on.
Sam Brittain stopped 44 of 47 Stingrays shots to earn the win.
