The New Hampshire Fisher Cats build an early lead they couldn’t hold on Friday night.
The Erie SeaWolves’ Gabriel Quintana hit two solo homers, then delivered the decisive sacrifice fly in the eighth inning, lifting the hosts to a 4-3 Eastern League triumph.
The Fisher Cats scored all of their runs in the first inning. Jonathan Davis homered to lead off, and Reese McGuire later hit a two-run double.
Reliever Griffin Glaude (0-1), who pitched one-third of an inning and allowed two hits and a run, took the loss. Thomas Pannone started for New Hampshire and allowed three runs (two earned) over five innings.
The teams play again tonight at 7:05 p.m. Sean Reid-Foley (8-9) goes for New Hampshire.
