Baseball: Erie whips Fisher Cats; Silver Knights win title

Kody Eaves hit two homers and drove in five runs as the Erie SeaWolves overwhelmed the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 11-0 in Eastern League play Saturday in Erie, Pa.

Anthony Alford and Andrew Guillotte had the only two Fisher Cats hits.

The series ends with a 1:35 p.m. game today. Connor Greene (4-8, 4.89) goes for New Hampshire. A.J. Ladwig (7-4, 4.58) pitches for Erie.

Also Saturday, catcher Alex Monsalve was promoted to Triple-A Buffalo. Catcher Andres Sotillo was promoted from Advanced-A Dunedin to the Fisher Cats.

Silver Knights win title

The Nashua Silver Knights defeated the Worcester Bravehearts, 2-0, Saturday night at Holman Stadium in Nashua to win the Futures Collegiate Baseball League title. Nashua won the championship series, two games to none.

Tom Blandini singled home Dylan Maher in the second for a 1-0 lead. Kyle Bonicki singled home Ted Williams in the fifth for the 2-0 final.
