September 19. 2017 12:50PM

CONCORD — Waltham, Mass., native Dan O’Brien says he achieved his long-term goal of returning to New England this week when he finalized the purchase of Team Kia at 158 Manchester St. in Concord from Vicki Marcinkevich.

The name change and ownership transfer of the dealership — now called Dan O’Brien Kia — became official Sept. 12. O’Brien has owned and managed Kia dealerships in Florida and Tennessee for the past six years, according to a news release.

“We are so excited to be back in New England, and really pumped up about all the opportunity up here,” O’Brien said in statement.

The store has 35 full- and part-time employees. O’Brien said he expects that number to double in the near future as the dealership aims to double its sales.

Marcinkevich and Team Advantage Inc. said they will remain active in the retail auto industry with their two Nissan dealerships in Manchester and Lebanon, according to a separate news release about the deal.
