DERRY — The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (DOT) will host a public informational meeting on Wednesday, July 25, about plans to construct a new highway exit between Exit 4 and Exit 5 on Interstate 93, according to a release.

The meeting will take place at the West Running Brook Middle School gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. There will be a presentation by public officials and designers, as well as a period for public testimony.

According to the DOT release, the meeting will also be a public hearing to jointly discuss the use of a design-build procurement method for the final design and construction of the project. The department is considering this method, which would be permitted if it is determined to be more beneficial to the state than traditional contracting methods.

The law also requires the project cost more than $25 million and that the department host a hearing with public comment on the proposal.

Comments for the design-build procurement can be submitted for 30 days after the hearing.

The new exit will be located in Londonderry but direct traffic easterly into Derry to Route 102. It will include a new roadway connecting to North High Street near its intersection with Madden Road in Derry. There will also be road improvements along Folsom Road and Tsienneto Road.
