Eduardo Rodriguez struck out 12 batters over 5 2/3 innings Saturday night, and the visiting Boston Red Sox received solo homers from Eduardo Nunez, Jackie Bradley Jr. and Ian Kinsler in a 6-1 victory over the Chicago White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.

The Red Sox won for the fourth time in five games to remain 7 1/2 games ahead of the second-place New York Yankees in the American League East.

The White Sox have won six of their past 10.

Rodriguez (12-3) allowed one run on three hits and one walk. It was the third double-digit strikeout game in the majors for Rodriguez, who finished one whiff shy of his career high, set against the Tampa Bay Rays on Sept. 25, 2016.

Rodriguez was locked in a scoreless duel with White Sox starter Carlos Rodon before Nunez and Bradley Jr. homered in the fifth.

Chicago produced its lone run in the sixth. Yolmer Sanchez hit a leadoff single and was forced out on Adam Engel's grounder. Engel scored when Nicky Delmonico chased Rodriguez with a two-out double.

The Red Sox ended Rodon's night in the seventh, when Christian Vazquez scored from third on a throwing error by Rodon before Steven Pearce delivered an RBI single. J.D. Martinez greeted Ryan Burr with another run-scoring single.

Kinsler homered in the eighth.

Bradley, Martinez and Mookie Betts had two hits apiece for the Red Sox, who received 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief from a trio of pitchers.

Matt Davidson had two hits for the White Sox.

Rodon (6-4) allowed five runs (four earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four over 6 1/3 innings. The loss snapped a five-decision winning streak for Rodon, who had a 1.84 ERA in his previous nine starts, during which he didn't allow more than three runs in any outing.
