‘Disney’s Beauty and the Beast’ visits Manchester's Palace Theatre

MANCHESTER — “Disney’s Beauty and the Beast,” based on the Academy Award-winning animated movie, opens this weekend on the Palace Theatre stage, 80 Hanover St.

Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday, and and 7:30 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. The production will continue through Sunday, Sept. 30.

It features all the songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Menken and Tim Rice.

This is the story of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If he can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out.

Tickets are $39 to $46 for adults and $25 for ages 6 to 12.
