LONDONDERRY — Everything Essential Salon and Spa is planning a move to a larger space and expanding the services it offers.

The site plan for the project, which involves converting an old office space near the intersection of Mohawk Drive and Route 102 was given conditional approval by the Planning Board Wednesday night.

The new space at 6 Mohawk Drive is a two-story building with a combined 5,840 square feet, more than double the current space.

The entire second floor and some of the first floor will be used for additional spa services. The salon, with hair and nail service, will be at the first-floor entrance, according to manager Cara Glaser.

“We hope to have a day spa feel,” Glaser said.

She said the owner, Laura Maillet, hopes to break ground on the renovations in the next few weeks and have it ready to open by January 2019.

Glaser said the spa portion of the business at their current location at 18 Orchard View Drive is small and consists of three rooms; a makeup room, a massage room and an aesthetics room.

The new space will enable them to add a couples room, a room for body treatments, showers and a relaxation lobby, which will serve beverages and refreshments.

Glaser said they hope to partner with local restaurants to provide lunch so customers can spend the day there. They will also continue to host child-oriented events like birthday parties.

The expansion will also mean growing the staff, Glaser said. There will be increased capacity for about eight more employees, including part-time, such as massage therapists, hair stylists, nail technicians and more.

Currently, the salon and spa is only open Monday through Saturday. Eventually, the goal is to be open seven days a week, Glaser said.

She was unable to say how much the renovation would cost, but said it was being financed partly with loans from Enterprise Bank.
