Sullivan woman faces aggravated DWI, vehicular assault charges in Nelson head-on crash

NELSON — A Sullivan woman faces charges after police said she caused a head-on crash on Route 9 Saturday night, State Police said.

Meghan Gaouette, 32, was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, a felony, and with vehicular assault in the crash, which happened about 9:10 p.m., according to a news release.

State Police from Troop C said Gaouette was heading east in the westbound lane of Route 9 and was using a mobile electronic device when the crash occurred. Two people were taken to Cheshire Medical Center in Keene, with one of them suffering serious injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Gaouette is scheduled to be arraigned in Cheshire County Superior Court on Sept. 2, police said.
