GILMANTON — Officials say a woman was seriously injured Saturday after she was hit by a truck while riding bike in Gilmanton.

Police say a Dodge Ram was traveling north on Route 106 around noon Saturday near Allens Mill Road when the driver hit a woman, 45, riding a bike.

The woman, whose name was not released Sunday, was flown by DHART helicopter to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 33-year-old male whose name was not released, was also taken to the hospital in Concord as a precaution.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, but police believe speed was likely a factor. No charges had been filed as of Sunday night.

Route 106 reopened Saturday around 8:30 p.m. after being closed for more than eight hours while crews investigated the accident.
