FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — For the first time in almost two weeks, New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead on Sunday found his way to the team’s practice fields.

Burkhead, who has reportedly been dealing with a slight tear in his knee, last practiced on Aug. 8, the day before the Patriots’ preseason opener. He participated in warmups and then departed to a lower conditioning field with teammates who were then on the Physically Unable to Play list. Burkhead has yet to take a preseason snap.

Sixth-round rookie wideout Braxton Berrios was also present for practice, a non-padded walkthrough. Berrios missed New England’s 37-20 win over the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday after participating fully in every one of the team’s training camp practices.

Berrios was among 10 Patriots absent for Thursday’s game. A few others, including wideout Kenny Britt, defensive end Trey Flowers and Matthew Slater, took the field Sunday after being limited earlier in the week. It is unclear if they remain limited.

Running back Sony Michel, offensive tackle Marcus Cannon, offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn and linebacker Harvey Langi were absent. Michel and Cannon have not practiced since Aug. 1. Wynn is expected to miss the season after rupturing his left Achilles against the Eagles. Langi will reportedly be out until early September after suffering an internal laceration.

The Patriots return to preseason action Friday against the Carolina Panthers. Kickoff from Charlotte is set for 7:30 p.m.
