Swiftwater rescue training, April 7, 2013

The New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of Fire Standards & Training conducted a swiftwater/flood rescue training drill Sunday afternoon on the Merrimack River between Moore's Crossing Road in Bedford and Depot Road in Manchester.

The New Hampshire Department of Safety, Division of Fire Standards & Training conducted a swiftwater/flood rescue training drill Sunday afternoon on the Merrimack River between Moore's Crossing Road in Bedford and Depot Road in Manchester. The exercise included drills in swiftwater rescue and water bound search. NH and regional rescue personnel took to the river in inflatable rescue craft and a helicopter provided by the NH National Guard Aviation Unit based in Concord assisted in the drills. (Bruce Taylor/Union Leader)
