NH celebrates Veterans Day
Wednesday, Nov. 11
- ALTON: Claude R. Batchelder Post 72 is hosting a pre-parade coffee and doughnut social at 9:30 a.m. The Alton Veterans Parade will march from the post to Monument Square. A ceremony in the square begins at 11 a.m.
- BERLIN: The White Mountain Veterans Council will host an observance ceremony at Veterans Park on Glenn Ave. at 10 a.m.
- BOSCAWEN: The Disabled American Veterans and the State Veterans Cemetery will host ceremonies at 11 a.m. at the state cemetery on Daniel Webster Highway. The event features a flyover and music by the New Hampshire National Guard Army 39th Band.
- DANVILLE: The town will hold a veterans observance from 10 to 11 a.m. at Veterans' Memorial.
- DERRY: Veterans Day services will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church at 63 East Broadway at 10 a.m., followed by a remembrance ceremony at MacGregor Park next to the Derry Public Library.
- DUMMER: The White Mountain Veterans Council will host an observance at Dummer Town Hall at 9 a.m.
- EPPING: Seacoast United Soccer will rename its main field at 88 Shirkin Road at 10:30 a.m. in honor of Navy Seal Nate Hardy who was killed in Iraq. Event features a US Air Force flyover.
- EXETER: The town will hold a veterans observance at 11 a.m. at Gale Park on Front Street.
- FRANCESTOWN: American Legion Post 50 and other veterans will hold a brief Veterans Day parade at 11 a.m. at the Francestown Commons, followed by a luncheon at the meeting house.
- GORHAM: The White Mountain Veterans Council will host an observance ceremony at Gorham Common on Main Street at 11 a.m.
- HAMPSTEAD: The town will hold a veterans observance from 11 a.m. to noon at Hampstead Middle School. There will also be a wreath-laying ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park in front of the town offices.
- HOLDERNESS: The Veterans Honor Roll Monument will be dedicated at 11 a.m. at the Holderness Library on U.S. Route 3 followed by a reception in the reading room.
- JAFFREY: The John Humiston Post 11 and VFW Post 5613 will host a parade that will assemble at 10 a.m. at the Blake Street parking lot. A brief ceremony will be held at the town common.
- LACONIA: A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. at Veterans Square, across from the Laconia Public Library.
- LYNDEBOROUGH: The Lafayette Artillery will fire its cannon at 11 a.m. at the Old Town Hall.
- MANCHESTER:
- The Manchester Veterans Affairs Medical Center will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at 2 p.m. in the Radisson Hotel Ballroom at 700 Elm St. The program includes a tribute to Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans.
- The Manchester Veterans Council will lead a parade through downtown Manchester starting at 10:30 a.m. at the intersection of Webster and Elm streets. The parade will stop at City Hall at 11 a.m. for a moment of silence then proceed to Veterans Park for a short ceremony with keynote speaker USAF Col. Gail Prince.
- The Sweeney Post Ladies Auxiliary will host a pre-parade breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. at the post at 251 Maple St.
- MEREDITH: A parade from the American Legion on 6 Plymouth St. to the Meredith Library will begin at 11 a.m. A ceremony will be held at the library and followed by lunch at the Legion.
- MILAN: The White Mountain Veterans Council will host an observance ceremony at the 8:45 a.m. at the Milan Church on Milan Road.
- MILFORD: A parade will begin at the American Legion Post on Cottage Street at 10:30 a.m.
- NASHUA: The city Veterans Day Parade will meet at Holman Stadium at 9:45 a.m. and start at 10:30 a.m. It will be followed by a ceremony at noon at City Hall.
- PLYMOUTH: A parade will gather at the NH National Guard Armory on Main Street at 10 a.m. It will be followed by a ceremony outside Town Hall.
- RINDGE: Rindge Veterans Association, Honor and Color Guards will host a flag ceremony at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of the Pines at 10 Hale Hill Road. Veterans Motorcycle Rider members will attend and a rifle squad will fire a gun salute.
- SALEM:
- A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. at Veterans Park with the Salem High School chorus, buglers and color guard.
- Woodbury School sixth-grade students will host the annual Veterans Day Program at 8 a.m. Gov. John Lynch, New Hampshire National Guard Adjutant General William Reddel and about 200 veterans and guests are expected to attend.
- WOODSVILLE: A Veterans Day Parade steps off from Bond Auto on Central Street at 11 a.m. and stops for a ceremony at Central Street monument. Another ceremony will be held at the Roiss-Wood Post 20 American Legion at the end of the parade.
Saturday, Nov. 14
- LONDONDERRY: A Veterans Day Parade and a 20th anniversary celebration for American Legion Post 27 will be held at 10 a.m. from the Londonderry High School to the Town Common. USMC Major Dan Tamburello of Londonderry will speak at a brief ceremony.
- WARNER: American Legion Post 39 will host a Veterans Day potluck supper at 5:30 p.m. at Town Hall. All veterans, spouses and family are invited to this free dinner.

Thank you for posting the different towns Veterans Day parades. I do not think we will go because of the H1N1 flu being so widespread, but it is honorable that you publish them.
Today my son and I hope to pray for the Veterans, salute them, sing songs and do some coloring pages at home. Thank you Veterans for fighting for our freedoms. We really do honor your courage and commitment to American ideologies (specifically Biblical ones.)

The Veterans Day parade in Manchester is NOT on Sunday, Nov. 8. It is always on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. You also had it wrong in the paper this week, and put in a corrected version today. Why is it so hard to get this right?
