Repealing "Don't ask, don't tell" may be the right thing to do, but there's only one reason to do it: military effectiveness.

Didn't that Manchester bank robber last week know that if you are going to rob a bank on Elm Street, ManchVegas, you are supposed to tape a tree to your head?

By GEN. WESLEY CLARK
Sunday, Oct. 14, 2007
Political attacks that misrepresent the senator's positions betray a fundamental misunderstanding about how to conduct effective diplomacy.

Gen. Clark is full of B/S. Obama is kicking her tail for giving Bush another blank check. Say no to Hillary N.H. you can help save us.
- Rick, Amesbury MA
I wonder what kind of Hillary "diplomacy" does the general have in mind? She called Obama irresponsible and naive for saying that he would be willing to have direct diplomacy with Iran, but now she is hailed as the most suitable for conducting diplomacy. Its a shame that she would do anything just to get power.

In a debate in 2004, Gen Clark said that, before the invasion of Iraq, Bush's determination to launch the war was Washington's worst kept secret. He claimed that Washington's insiders (incl. Bill and Hilary) all knew that Bush's goal was to attack states, not terrorists.
Now he supports Clinton, who disingenuously claims she had no idea Bush would "misuse" the war authority for which she voted. I have great respect for Gen. Clark and, thus, terribly regret that he has forsaken his principles on this issue.
- Jaime, Austin
Well, Bush should be taking care of it, yes. But he isn't. He's outsourced our diplomacy to the Brits, French and Germans. He's leaving all the problem-solving to his successor.
What purpose does it serve to say that Clark was fired from SHAPE for incompetence? He wasn't.
- Ed Swezey, Easton PA
I am glad to see that many in senior military positions and military experts understand the need for diplomacy regaurding Iran. Clinton is by far the most qualified democratic candidate to deal with such complex foreign relations and will be an intelligent, resourceful and accountable commander in chief. Here's hopeing that more military personnell like Clark will let their voices of reason be heard. Thank you General Clark and good luck Hillary!
- Robert John Kellogg, Charlotte
I strongly disagree with Wesley Clark that she is best prepared to pursue our nation's intersts.... She had to pull her double barrel shotgun out here in order to try to solidity her flipflops. Also, Clinton is only following Obama after Obama chastised Bush for his lack of dipolmacy with Iran and other countries and after he said he would meet with the leaders of these countries, and Hillary was caught flipflopping on that issue.
- RuthieM, E Stroudsburg, PA
All words from Clark need to be taken with several grains of salt. He served as a stalking horse for Mrs. Clinton in the 2004 elections. Yes, he was NATO Supreme Commander and was fired from that position for incompetence. A Clinton regime would not respond to the Iranian threat until nuclear bombs had fallen on our allies in Europe and Israel and then her response would be, "Bush should have taken care of it!"
